April O'Neil gives me the scoop on 'Dr. Who'

She makes a fine Dr. herself

I make no secret that a good 1/3 of my online time is spent trying to seduce April O'Neil. She's super pretty, has the Ninja Turtles name, and is one of the coolest (i.e. dorkiest) girls I know; not just porn girls, but of any girls. And I don't think thats pathetic, its just as constructive a use of my time as playing Farmville. You're trying to plant crops, I'm trying to plant my seed...its all the same except my day has more boobs. But there's something thats keeping us apart. It's not the 2,500 miles between us. It's not that I'm not skinny and English. And its not even that she'd prefer it if I had a vagina. No. It's that I don't know a thing about Dr. Who. Until that gets cleared up, I'm hopeless.

So April, just what the hell is Dr. Who?

Doctor Who is a British sci fi tv show that started in the 60's, lasted through to the 80's, then they brought it back in 2005. It follows an alien who travels around in his time machine serving up justice and saving all of time and space. It is the best television series ever.

I know that the Dr. keeps changing...well, dies and gets a new body or something. Whats going on with that, doesn't it ruin the drama when the main character can keep coming back?

He "regenerates". Which basically means he can rearrange or reset his biology to heal himself before he dies. He CAN die if he doesn't regenerate in time or is being stopped. So, you know, there's still suspense about it. I cried my eyes out when David Tennant regenerated into Matt Smith. It's this interesting mortality/immortality thing he has and he always uses it to save people. See, he still has the same brain and memories but he IS a different person. They make fun of it in the sixth series opener: He tries all these foods and thinks they taste terrible because he has these new taste buds he's never had before, but his brain doesn't know what those taste buds like. Or you could think of it like a snake shedding it's skin or a crab getting a new shell. I think it's fun to see the actors tie in a lot of the traits of the previous actor while still making it their own.

Dr. Who has been around for decades, isn't it really hard to follow the show? Is it one big continuity like comics, or do they just ignore stuff from the past when they feel like it (like comics)?

It is hard to follow if you're hardcore about it. I got into it when they revived it and never really thought of the old stuff til recently. I've been spoiled by CG & 3D & just general technological improvements so I personally have an extremely hard time getting into old sci fi film/tv...I just can't get swept up in it like I do with the newer stuff. So, I've seen a few old ones because I wanted to see the very first and then the Time War. Anyway, the tv show has the most linear continuity as opposed to the books and other various things. I mostly just accept what fits in well to the revival's story and ignore the rest. It's a TV show so it's not like it's a super big deal. There's also just thinking there are parallel universes with parallel Doctors. Haha!

Whats the coolest thing about Dr. Who, or the most memorable thing you've seen? Whats wowed you.

The whole thing. Even THAT's part of the "wow"...it's this huge, epic, almost fairy tale story that spans through time and space and dimensions and this guy is just trying to do good, and stand up for what's right and protect these people who he sees such potential in. But he has these demons and enemies...I mean how could you not at 906 years old? And all his mistakes just keep coming back around. You don't blame him for it, because he's trying to do the right thing and sometimes it has terrible consequences. Soo, THAT ALL happens every episode. :) It's just so full of awesome!

I've seen a lot of photoshops from girls of the series where they're naked. Do you have a crush on any of them and which should I look for more fake nudes of?

I think Karen Gillan, the current companion, is the hottest. I hated her at first cuz she's so hot and tall and on Doctor Who and it's not fair. But then I watched her more and really liked her. She's perfect for the character they were going for and she's extremely expressive with her eyes which is just fun to watch. I don't think there are any n00dz of her but there are some pretty easy to find risque ones.

Just to say though, Rose and Martha were hot in their own right. The girl that played Rose went on to play the girl in Diary of a Call Girl and was hot as shit at it. Lots and lots of lingerie there! Funny thing, in the series she bangs a guy played by the current Doctor. Ha!

So, I take it this is a good thing to watch? I wonder if any other guys and girls started shamelessly doing something like this to have a reason to talk to you, and try and form a bond of friendship over a common interest that leads to romance or at least a blowjob...also, completely unrelated, go Phoenix Suns!

Yes! Watch it! Even if my fangirl rants that don't make any sense can't sway you, my enthusiasm should. You know I have pretty good taste, how could my favorite thing ever not be worth at least watching a couple of episodes? And if someone doesn't know me, they should Google it and try not to be sucked into awesomeness. Try!

Disclaimer: If you don't like sci fi at all, you might not like it...
