I'm an asshole when it comes to comics

Read this article, from my local paper about the Silver Scorpion's creation by a group of disabled kids: http://www.tampabay.com/incoming/disabled-youths-construct-new-muslim-comic-book-superhero/1124375

Now, why I'm a douche; the Silver Scorpion is about a guy in a wheelchair that instantly reminds me of Prof X's hoverchair (mixed with The Chief's Battle Chair from Doom Patrol 94). And then his power is to control metal, much like X-Men villain Magneto. but hey, maybe the character is different. It's not like Nazi Holocaust  victim Magneto was influenced by war.

So here's some kids, trying their best to do a good thing for a good reason, and all my cynical comic-fan mind can do is think that this is a huge rip-off and  MY rip-off's of comic characters never made the paper.

I disagree with this Shaggy shirt

Outwardly, yes Shaggy seems like a slacker. He's lazy and just wants to eat all the time. But, depending on the series, he's either spending over 300 days a year on the road investigating strange rumours, or defending his million-plus dollar inheritance from all sorts of crooks. I'd be hard pressed to find one 'hard-worker' who's done more with their life then Shaggy has!

Up does not make you jump higher

Been playing Super Metroid for hours on end this week, and when I acquired the Space Jump I proceeded to die a slow, agonizing death multiple times by repeatedly falling on spikes after my first spin. For years, I've had the habit of holding up when I jump - like that would magically make me jump higher. I've been doing it since the NES days, but in SM it will kill you, as up breaks you out of a spin jump, and for space jump you need to continuously spin. It took me a good 20 minutes to get comfortable doing it, and I sure haven't mastered it yet, though I'm good enough to get it to get me everywhere I need to go with only a few hiccups.

Beating Ridley, however, is something I cannot even come close to getting. :/

He will never be Diddy to me.

It's Sean Combs or Puff Daddy or Puffy if you're more then a casual acquaintance, but thats it.

Remember Bloodhound?

Bloodhound was a short lived 2004 series from DC Comics. It was about a normal man named Travis Clevenger, who is released early from prison just because he's exceptional at hunting down meta-humans. A cool book from Dan Jolley and Leonard Kirk, it should be very easy and cheap to pick up (it ran for 10 issues).

Go read up on some old interviews about it:

Seems Dan's regained the rights for it, and has been very busy in the years since. Check him out at his website. http://www.danjolley.com

Magic the Gathering needs to gather more sharks

Sharks are awesome; I think we can all agree on that. But in Magic, they are few and far between. There's only two! So shark tribal is pretty hard to pull off. Still, lets have a look:

Ah, The Dark. This set actually had some really awesome cards, like Preacher and Witch Hunter and Elves of Deep Shadow and the ever-amazing Leviathan. Giant Shark is NOT very awesome, even to a Timmy like me. The +2/+0 would be pretty cool, and ALMOST make up for the fact its a sic cost islandhome (Sea Monster wasn't available yet), but the restriction of the opposing creature already needing to take damage kills it. Pingers were still in blue's colour pie at the time, but its still very hurtful.

I like this card from Stronghold better. It still needs islands to attack, but can at the very least block without them. Its a 2/3 wall that can situationally attack, and with lots of cards that create islands the drawback can be managed, if you were so inclined to do so.

And those are all the sharks the games got. It has at least one other card with sharks on it (below - and if you know more lemme know!), but thats it. There are a greater variety of 2/2 bears then there are of sharks at all! I like bears, but thats not cool.

Groovy - More Duke Nukem

Having recently played some classic Duke you can download on X-Box, I'm excited to see Duke Nukem Forever coming out! No, seriously. In 2011. Thirteen years. Damn. Also, this cartoon rocks:
